It’s the third week of the blog and here we
go with our third choice from the Fenriz inspired Insetu’s band of the week and
for the first time is not from our beloved Goiânia scene, this band has its
origins craved at the northeast of our country, more precisely from Teresina, Piauí.
Formed in 2009 from the ashes of Soturnus
Skullcrusher, basically they’ve just change the names, as people often though
it was difficult to pronounce, I definitely prefer theactual name. They’ve released in 2010 their
first EP, some claims it is a demo, but Josh (guitars and vocals) said in interview
to a Dutch blog it is the final product, there will be no re-recordings or rearrangements on that songs and that is why it is
an EP.
This EP is
what made me love this band, it is barely over eight minutes spread in four aggressively
atmospheric tracks of old school death
metal, with traits of black metal and a clear influence of old hardcore and
crust. It is raw, fast and short like a blast in the ears and it can be easily appreciated
by anyone who likes those genres.
They are now
in the studio recording their still untitled debut and until the end of the
year we will have a full album from this band that for me is one of the best
new bands to rise in our national scene.
