Spiritual
Carnage is one of the most important, if not the most important, metal band in Goiânia,
they have started in 1989, a period that had only few metal bands around in Goiânia,
much less a Death Metal band, with an old school style that draws influence
from early Death Metal, like Morbid Angel and Cannibal Corpse, they survived
trends and the lack of structure of our local scene, gaining a highly
respectable reputation.
Unfortunately
they were never able to tour on our national territory, therefore not getting
the recognition they deserve, I don’t know if it is their own fault or just bad
luck as their music has the quality to make them one of the best bands in
Brazil. Few years ago they tried to organize an European tour but also unsuccessful.
During
all this years, as most bands that last this long, they had some line up
changes with Hemar Messiah the only remaining original member, they released
four demos, PRE-DESTINED DEATH (1990), CREEPING UNDER BLACK SOULS (1992),
SPIRITUAL CARNAGE (1997) e SHELTERED IN FLAMES (2002) and in 2006 they released,
by the label Two Beers Or Not Two Beers, their first album the excellent VOICES
OF DARKNESS, produced by Gustavo Vasquez. They also shared stage with some wicked metal
bands like KRISIUM, DESTRUCTION, TORTURE SQUAD, FUNERATUS, CANNIBAL CORPSE,
SEPULTURA, KORZUS, MASTER, VULCANO and DR SIN.
Now
they are preparing material for a new album and preparing again for an European
tour
Basically
they are the kings of metal in Goiânia and in this city if you call yourself a
metalhead, a headbanger or whatever metal label you like to put on yourself,
you gotta have their album, if you don’t, better sell some of yours Slipknot or
Metallica stuff and get it now!!!
